Bullying

If your child is bullied by peers you are likely to feel a wide range of emotions: powerlessness to protect your child… anger at those who bully and perhaps anger with their parents as well…and maybe frustration with your child’s school if the authorities there have been ineffective in helping your son or daughter. It is very difficult to know where to begin. To help families cope with this common problem, we first conduct a thorough evaluation. Working together with a family, we identify a child’s strengths, challenges, the qualities of the social environment and the strategies most likely to be effective. Our therapists then help guide parents and children through the process of creating a new social beginning.
