ADD and ADHD

ADD/ADHD affects approximately 3-7% of people in this country and around the world. Common symptoms include:

Inattentive Symptoms


  • Often fails to pay close attention to details or makes careless mistakes
  • Has difficulty sustaining attention
  • Does not seem to listen when spoken to directly
  • Does not follow through on tasks
  • Is often disorganized
  • Frequently loses things
  • Is easily distracted
  • Underestimates the time it takes to complete a task


Hyperactive/Impulsive Symptoms (youth)

  • Fidgets or squirms in seat
  • Leaves seat in classroom or other similar situations
  • Runs around or climbs excessively
  • In adolescents and adults, reports frequent feeling of restlessness
  • Often on the go or acts as if “driven by a motor”
  • Talks excessively, often loudly
  • Blurts out answers
  • Has difficulty waiting turns
  • Interrupts or intrudes on others

Hyperactive/Impulsive Symptoms (adult)

  • Impulsive spending, talking
  • Difficulties with anger
  • Restless feelings or behavior
  • Frequent automobile violations
  • Excessive impatience
  • Poor boundaries, intrusive behavior
  • Difficulty relaxing

ADHD Therapy
